Mealworms can be an enjoyable live treat for many frogs. Because frogs vary greatly in size and species, it’s important to choose a mealworm that is appropriately sized for the individual frog.

As a general sizing guide, the mealworm should not be wider than the distance between the frog’s eyes. This can help you judge whether a particular mealworm is appropriately sized for your frog.

Size Tip:

Medium live mealworms are a good starting size for many frogs. Larger frogs may be able to handle Large mealworms, while Giant mealworms may be appropriate only for frogs large enough to manage them comfortably.

Offer mealworms alongside your pet’s regular balanced diet, with fresh water always available.
